We went live with this at eleven this morning, and I have been refreshing the page every few minutes since, mostly to make sure it still exists.
Untold is a place for the long story you have not told anyone. Not the one-line confession, not the joke you make about your family at a party, not the carefully funny version of your worst year. The version that takes six hundred words and makes somebody reading it feel less alone at eleven at night. We built it because every social feed we use rewards the shortest possible version of a thing, and some things do not survive that compression.
Here is what it is not. It is not a rumour board. It is not a place to name people, screenshots from a private chat, or settle a score with somebody who will never get to answer. It is not a confession generator, and there is no button here that turns a bad evening into content. Every piece on this shelf was written by a person, checked by a person, and appears with the writer's consent — and if a piece needs to come down, it comes down.
The shelf starts small on purpose. We would rather have a shelf you read slowly than a feed you scroll forever. What you are seeing today is the first set: stories about things left unsaid, about belonging, family, growing up, decisions, and work and study. One a day goes up from tomorrow, and in the mornings the page will have changed while you slept, which I find genuinely exciting.
If you have one of these in you, the writing room is open. You do not need to be a writer. You need to be specific, and honest, and willing to take out the parts that would identify somebody else. We will read it. If it is good we will publish it with an alias that nobody can trace back to you — not us either, as far as the public page is concerned.
Thank you for being here on day one. It is a strange and ordinary thing, launching a quiet website in a loud year, and it feels much better with somebody reading.
A conversation, quietly.
